This small palm is one of the hardiest palm trees one will encounter. Also known as the Blue-stem palm, the trunk actually remains below the ground, and the leaves extending outward can measure anywhere from one to five feet wide, depending on conditions.
Because of it’s height and hardiness, the Sabal Minor is perfect for use as a border or hedging, both residentially and in commercial developments. Also ideal for framing larger tree species, such as live oaks.
Botanical Name: Sabal Minor
Common Name(s): Blue Stem Palmetto and/or Dwarf Palmetto
